   It started in 2019, when I rescued an English Bulldog that was being thrown away because she could no longer breed. This was also a time in my life when I was transitioning into a new space with my dad as a caregiver. There wasn't a place that was willing to allow me to adopt without red tape, so when I got a call about Jojo, I said, "I'm on my way!" Jojo was digging holes in the dirt to stay cool and drinking water out of a dirty mop bucket. It was an uphill battle getting her to trust me and allow me to nurse her back to health. But I knew God had sent my spirit animal,  and we ventured on this healing journey together, one day at a time. This is where Bone Gypsy began, with a dog that was traumatized by water, noise, and touch. The dry dog shampoo was the first product I created, and I went through several trials to get her to trust the bottle shaking. Once we made it over that hurdle, she was tested and came back with parasites, as well as a heartworm positive. As a speech therapist, my patience was my best attribute I could offer her, as she struggled to eat anything I bought her from the store. I made a choice that Bone Gypsy would go beyond the salve or treats I was making for Jojo...it sparked a love for helping other pet owners.
